1st organized Foreign Stock Car race in Seattle Coliseum, promoted by Seattle Private Dective Windsor Olson, in which 12 cars appear. That race had the largest paid indoor attendance of 5,853 people in the area. May 1965 A story in Racing Wheels created more interest and a 2nd race was held at the Coliseum. Meetings were held and a loose group with no rules resulted. July 1965 Elected 1st officers and chose the name "Foreign Stock Car Racing Association". With 35 members and 20 cars the dues were set at $5 initiation and $5 membership 1965 Races at Sky Valley, Elma, Skagit and Pacific Race-ways. 1966 Indoor racing at the Argrodome in Vancouver, B.C. January 1967 Articles of Incorporation signed and F.S.C.R.A., Inc. was born. 1st By-Laws, Rules and Point System were adopted. A brief Canadian Season follows, but is not run under F.S.C.R.A. sanction. 1967-71 Races at Langley, B.C., Spanaway, Jantzen Beach, Othello, WA, Eugene, OR, Lewiston, ID, Victoria, B.C. and Sky Valley. A 4 week indoor season was tried at the Tacoma Sports Arena in 1971, but was aborted. January 1972 New By-laws and amended articles filed. 1974 Changed from 1/5-mile track to a new 3/8 mile track at Evergreen Speedway. 1982 Looking for ways to again make racing affordable, a new class of cars called the street stocks was formed. These cars competed on the 3/8-mile track eliminating the 1/5-mile class. New rules for the AA cars, which would slow them down, were adopted for better competition. 1985 F.S.C.R.A. celebrates it's 20th Anniversary. In competition with other clubs, F.S.C.R.A. members tow a combined mileage of over 200,000 miles to tracks stretching from Canada to California and Utah. An average of 40 cars competed at each race. 1987 Introduction of the Mini Super-Stock class which ran with the AA's. Association continued to travel to scheduled races at Ephrata, Spanaway, Port Angeles, Wenatchee and Yakima Speedways. 1989 A number of new style "mini's" were brought out and the class begins to grow. 1990 F.S.C.R.A. celebrates it's 25th Anniversary. 2000 F.S.C.R.A. celebrates it's 35th Anniversary. 2005 In 2005 FSCRA celebrated our 40th season. Our schedule included races at South Sound Speedway, Stateline Idaho, Hermiston Oregon and Agassiz British Colombia. Record fuel prices of $3.07 for regular gas were seen but spirits remained high. More competitors bought and built cars bringing the total of competing cars to 25. John Grovesner of Tacoma Wa lowered track records at Agassiz, B.C., Hermiston and South Sound Speedways. Fans cheered Championship night as 64 year old Dan Hale beat two time defending champion Jerry Koepping by a single point. This accomplishment made hale the oldest season champion and also the closest finish anyone can remember. Membership continues to grow as the club looks toward future years.
